Letter from Jane to John & Sarah dated March 6, 1910

Emilys first   we are at Keur Bush not far from Emily

My Dear John and Sarah
            I Received your Loveing letter and I was Pleased to hear that you Received My letter  I was Pleased to hear about all the dear friends that is so far Far away  my one Daughter that was marr(i)ed up in Johannesburg Came down with her husband to see us all  She could not stay long as her Husband is one that work on the train so they had to make there stay short  she have a good Husband  it is my youngest Daughter  one young son is also up there and the Eldest Son is up there he work on his trade on road work  the one son is in the same shop where his poor Brother Henry was in when he got kild by train  Susan is still in the dorp in the same old House we was in when they left but her Husband have made it Larger  She have only three girls all grown up  My son Stephen have five Children  only one girl  poor Henry left five children.  The Eldest and the youngest is girls  three Boys it is Stephen that is in the ~~~~~ shop where his poor Brother use to be ~.  My dear I can not get my dear Boy out of my mind some days  I sat and look over his letters he wrote to me  he and his wife and the five children came down to see us that was in January and I never saw him again  he use to send me and his father some times one pound ten for his father and  the same for me and when he came down he brought  all a present even to the youngest child  I am yet whereing clothes Black dresses he brought me and all the Rest   Now it was like it was to mourn for him  it is so hard to give such a good child up  My heart some days feel as I could go some where where no one can find me  I get letters from his poor wife very often  Every one is so good to her  she never want for any thing for all was fond off him  they subscribe and got a fine tomb stone for his grave and came and put it up they would not let her put any money by  they done all  you must give my love to Willie Smith and his wife and family and to all the Rest and to Henry Smith  how is poor Annie Moon children  are they all growing up  I dont know where Mary Driscol is  I asked my Ada if she could tell me where what have become of Mary when my Ada came down to see us but she said she dont know where Mary went to for she  have not seen her again  I think Jems is still in the Bay  I dont think he Ever gave his sisters anything  he must have a good lot of money saved up  Con was cross with Mary for marrying that man she have got for he drink so so he would have nothing to do with Mary any more  I never hear from any of them  That is all I know about them  tell Marther (Martha?) she should drop me a few lines  she must remember me for she was not so small when they left  I have got still letters that Hernet and Roser and Sarah all of them that is dead wrote to me  I have all the letters still  there was a son of my Brother Charles died not so long ago  F?ans Smith in the Bay there is still a Brother and two sisters Liveing in the Bay  the eldest sister was up in Johannes Burg and two in the Bay  this letter will be More than two months going and comeing so it is a long time before it get to your hand  well my dear I am a ~~~~ writer and speller so Excuse all mistakes but it is in Love that I try to let you know that I am still Liveing but I am very old  I will be 78 on the 2 of April  well my dear I have no news to write  Emily and family is well her address is Middle Burg
